The Youth Against Fake Web project was born out of the need for online safety education in relation to the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic. The genesis of the project took place during of a time of increasing vulnerability for everyday users of the internet. This is due to the risks of scams, disinformation and grooming etc.

The objectives of the project are to provide training for youth workers to pass onto other youth workers and young people in their respective communities. The aim of the training is to support educators, youth workers, educational leaders and other support staff as well as educating people how to stay safe on the internet.

The training is delivered through a variety of digitally based peer to peer meetings and presentations. The course was designed in mind to be deliverable despite the pandemic restrictions in place in many places around the world.
